Make a Set of Serving Plates, Platters or Coasters
Friday September 11 - October 2, 2026 – 1:00 - 3:00pm
This four-week, introductory handbuilding class will get your hands wet creating from a raw block of clay and at the end of the workshop you will walk away with a set of serving plates or small platters.
During the four weeks of building we will delve into creating with slabs with a focus on building plates and/or platters. You will learn more about the amazing properties of clay, and together we will look at some of its properties and some of its limitations.
Touch, feel, form and shape what goes into creating beautiful, unique and functional flat ware. The first three classes will focus on designing and finishing our dishes. The last class will be a glazing class.
