Workshop: Make a set of Bowls - February 25 - March 25
Learn How to Coil
Wednesday February 25 to March 25, 2026 1:00pm - 3:00pm
This five-week, introductory handbuilding class will have your hands happy making magic from a raw block of clay and at the end of the workshop you will walk away with a set of bowls and an appreciation for the world of clay.
During the four weeks of building we will explore the three main hand building techniques, slab, coil and pinch with a focus on building bowls using the coiling method. You will learn more about the amazing properties of clay, and together we will look at some of its properties and some of its limitations.
Touch, feel, form and shape what goes into creating one of our most treasured and used utensils, the (soup, noodle, stew, cereal, tea) bowl. The first four classes will focus on designing and finishing our bowls. The last class will be a glazing class.
Maximum: 5 students | Minimum: 4
No previous handbuilding skills required. Each workshop includes hands-on learning, clay, access to tools, bisque and glaze firings and glazes
