During this four-week handbuilding class we will get into making lanterns. Using your hands and building from a block of clay you will visualise and form your very own unique structure and the end of the workshop you will walk away with a one-of-a kind lantern house.
In the course of the four weeks of building we will explore working with slabs of clay as we add components to our lanterns. You will get to familiarise yourself with the amazing properties of clay, and together we will look at some of its properties and some of its limitations.
The first three classes will focus on designing and finishing our projects The last class will be a glazing class.
